1. Extraordinary Desserts
1430 Union St
(between Beech St & Ash St)
San Diego, CA 92101
Extraordinary Desserts is one of the best bakeries in San Diego. The interior in this bakery is modern, and the bar changes seasonally with cocktails that come and go. The décor is simple and very clean, nothing to clutter the senses. Among the San Diego bakeries, this a go to place for eating something light. The presentation in this place for their deserts is top notch and almost picture perfect. Popular favorites are the heavy chocolate desserts like the Passion Fruit Ricotta Torte and the Shang-Ri-La. The chocolate cakes are also quite sinfully good. You might also try their strawberry shortcake. If there was one downside to this place, it’s the long lines of having to wait. On weekends, you might have to wait for up to an hour to get seated. Use that time while waiting to decide what to eat while in their comfortable seating area. While the prices may be a bit on the high side, they are well justified with the sumptuous display of dessert choices. These truly are extraordinary deserts!
